SUPPORT THE MISSION.....SUPPORT OUR TROOPS!!!

US Marine Seriously Wounded in Now Zad (Helmand Province) Afghanistan
...this is his life, this is our project.

US Marine Cpl Joshua Sweeney graduated from Ironwood High School in Glendale, Arizona in May 2005. Josh was registered to attend Glendale Community College, but decided he wanted to serve his Country instead, to serve his Country FIRST.

At the age of 18, he enlisted in the Marine Corps. He completed Marine Corps Recruit Training at MCRD San Diego, CA in December 2005. He graduated as a high shooter for his platoon. He then continued his training by attending the school of infantry at Camp Pendelton, CA. Once he graduated he flew to Virginia to attend the basic security guard school and was then sent to his first duty station in Norfolk, VA as part of the Marine Corps Security Forces.

Josh continued his training and pushed himself to be the best Marine he could. He wanted to return back to the desert so was assigned to the 3rd Battalion 4th Marines (Twenty Nine Palms, CA). Josh qualified for Sniper school so he was sent to Hawaii and graduated in September, 2009 as a Marine Corps Scout Sniper.

On October 4th, 2009 he was deployed to Afghanistan to try to help the people there by keeping them safe from the Taliban.

On October 28th, 2009 he steeped on an IED (improvised explosive device) while on patrol in the Now Zad (Helmand Province) and was critically wounded.

Josh has undergone nearly a dozen surgeries since that point. Josh lost both legs above the knee and has injuries to both hands.

When asked how he was able to cope, he responded, “I was prepared for what I was doing both physically and mentally before I left for Afghanistan.  I knew what all the risks were and am glad to be alive.”

In memory of Robert L Jackson (father of Soldier Support Project Inc founder)

Served United States Navy - USS Charles P Cecil

PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO REMEMBER!

Military Cemetery

Please remember:

that these

and many thousands before them

have died --

that is they have given their lives -- their all

so that you can be free --

to pursue your dreams.

And live in a country where you can --

be relatively free of fear.

Our founding fathers tried their best to set up a country where the people would remain free.

All American soldiers that have been killed in the line of duty died to defend that freedom.

Truly, most other issues are rather insignificant when compared to that.

American troops deserve our support regardless of our political positions.
